The Woman’s Club of Suffern began serving the Suffern, NY community in 1926. In 1937, a member of the Woman’s Club of Suffern decided to create a new club for her daughter. She named the group the Suffern Junior Woman’s Club. Hundreds of women–some local, some newcomers and some who just stayed for a while–have offered their hearts and their hands in a united effort to make our community a wonderful place to live.
Throughout the years, the two clubs have taken on diverse projects and maintained autonomous control of their activities, but the liaison between the clubs remains strong.
In 2015, a representative of the SJWC regularly attends the Woman’s Club of Suffern meetings. Concurrently, we welcome a long-standing Woman’s Club member not only as their representative, but also as an active SJWC participant.
The Suffern Junior Woman’s Club is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization. We are a member of the Suffern Collaborative.
